At our core, we are dedicated to empowering the residents of our community. Through Germantown’s Neighborhood Advisory Committees (NAC) Program, we provide valuable information about City programs and other resources that can make a difference in your life. Our guidance and referrals have helped to save renters from eviction, kept utilities on, and prevented at-risk homeowners from losing homes to foreclosure.

🏠 For Homeowners
BASIC SYSTEMS REPAIR PROGRAM (BSRP) This program provides free repairs to eligible owner-occupied homes inPhiladelphia. They work on electrical systems, plumbing, heating, structural issues, and roofing. For additional information on BSRP, please visit www.phdchousing.org or call (215) 448-2160.
ADAPTIVE MODIFICATIONS PROGRAM (AMP) The Adaptive Modifications Program (AMP)is designed to help low-income individuals with permanent physical disabilities live more independently in their homes. It provides free adaptations to a house or an apartment, allowing easier access to and mobility within the home. Learn more >>
TANGLED TITLE FUND Tangled Title Fund (TTF) grants are awarded to low-income persons seeking to clear legal title to their homes. Grants help to cover administrative, legal, and other costs that may arise in resolving a homeownership issue. Learn more >>
RESTORE, REPAIR, RENEW PROGRAM The City of Philadelphia and Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority (PRA) have a new initiative to help homeowners access low- interest rate loans to invest in their properties. Lenders participating in the program are offering 10-year, 3% fixedAnnual Percentage Rate loans that range from $2,500 to $24,999 for eligible homeowners. Restore, Repair, Renew loans can fund a range of home repairs that focus on health, safety, weatherization, accessibility, and quality of life. FORECLOSURE PREVENTION PROGRAM Residents facing the loss of their home due to mortgage or tax foreclosure can receive housing counseling and legal aid to help save their home. HEATER HOTLINE The Heater Hotline provides free repairs for income eligible homeowners with broken gas, oil, coal, or electric heating systems. Learn more >>
🔑 For First Time Homebuyers
PHILLY FIRST HOME PROGRAM The City of Philadelphia offers a homebuyer assistance grant of up to $10,000 (or 6% of the home’s purchase price, whichever is lower) to assist first-time homebuyers reduce the principal, cover down payment and loan closing costs. Learn more >>
TURN THE KEY PROGRAM Turn The Key (TTK) is helping Philadelphia families buy new affordable homes and build equity for their futures. Our development partners are building energy efficient homes on publicly owned land across Philadelphia.

EVICTION DIVERSION PROGRAM This program provides resources for landlords and tenants in residential rental properties to resolve issues while avoiding a costly or drawn-out court process. Landlord good faith participation in EDP is required before seeking a legal eviction through court. Resources may include mediation and funding that covers tenant’s rent arrears. Learn more >>
RENTAL IMPROVEMENT FUND As maintenance and repair needs grow among Philadelphia’s aging rental housing stock, PHDC is committed to ensuring that small landlords can access capital to make much-needed repairs while maintaining reasonable rents. PHDC’s Rental Improvement Fund (RIF) offers a loan product to small landlords to repair their rental properties. Loans are eligible for full forgiveness or a preferable 0% interest rate if landlords meet program affordability requirements during the loan term. Learn more >>

UUH OUTREACH PROGRAM A free, confidential service to assist adults aged 60+ in Northwest Philadelphia to help maintain independence in their home. Our caring, seasoned professionals will come to your home to discuss your challenges and help you understand your choices. Collaboration with the City of Philadelphia
In 2018, Germantown United CDC took took a significant stride by becoming a Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC) organization. This positioned us within a citywide network of more than 20 organizations committed to supporting Philadelphia residents, with a specific focus on serving our community members with low to moderate incomes.
