Center in the Park’s HUD-approved Housing Counseling Program provides quality counseling through information, referrals and advocacy for those with a variety of housing concerns. Get help with:

UUH Outreach supports the goals of people 60 and older in achieving independence, dignity and quality of life in their homes and communities.

Mt. Airy CDC | mtairyusa.org

Mt. Airy CDC’s housing counselors work with Pennsylvania residents in several programs, including foreclosure prevention, first time homebuyer’s workshops and one-on-one counseling, post-purchase counseling, and home improvement and energy workshops. You do not have to be a Mt. Airy resident to qualify for assistance.

Housing counseling agencies help families navigate the financial issues related to housing. They help with the home-buying process, credit repair, foreclosure prevention and more. Many agencies are located in Philadelphia neighborhoods. Assistance with Rent or Utilities

If you are in danger of being evicted from your rented apartment or house, these agencies may be able to provide rental assistance.

Center in the Park can also assist with Utility Emergency Services Fund (UESF), a grant that can provide assistance to eligible Philadelphia residents in shut off status with their utility. Eligible residents must be at or below the 175% poverty level, have a current shut off notice and cannot have received UESF within the past two years. Meet with Center in the Park’s Neighborhood Energy Center to see if you qualify.

TURN is a tenant service and advocacy organization that promotes the human right to housing. Tenants have a legal right to a safe and decent place to live. TURN offers Tenant Rights Workshops, Individual Counseling, Hotline Assistance, and Tenant Union Organizing Assistance. Counseling services are free of charge. There are no income restrictions for Counseling.

TURN assists Philadelphia residents with:

  • Defense in eviction actions
  • Rental unit repair problems
  • Assistance with organizing tenant unions
  • Assistance with housing discrimination claims
  • Referrals for households to access additional support services
  • Subsidy and relocation services to qualifying tenants (only when referred by the City of Philadelphia)
